Set in the iconic Pritzlaff, Emily & Griffin's Milwaukee wedding embraced simple, classic design with unique touches inspired by their love story. From personalized signage to record guest books and rooftop photos, every detail reflected their personalities.
While Emily & Griffin were brought together romantically thanks to a dating app, they had already met twice before through work. With many mutual friends and shared roots in Indiana, their relationship felt effortless and full of promise for the future.
Their wedding theme was classic and simple, with intentional and fun details sprinkled throughout. The Pritzlaff, a historic Milwaukee venue, blends old-world charm with modern elegance, making it the perfect location for any amount of décor. Emily wrote, "We wanted to keep our décor simple and beautiful, so we emphasized having a venue that spoke for itself!"
Emily found her dream dress at Bridal Boutique in Lewisville, Texas. The satin gown began with a structured corset featuring shoulder straps that met in the center of the back. The a-line silhouette bloomed into an elegant, flowing train that also included an asymmetrical slit on the left side. Her bridesmaids wore blush gowns of matching fabrics, but different shapes and cuts.
When it came to hair and makeup, Emily's choice was easy. Neroli, of Neroli Salon & Spa, had been doing her hair for the better part of a decade and had become a trusted professional as well as a friend. Together, they selected an elegant, low-updo with face-framing pieces, perfectly suited for a veil accessory during the ceremony.
Griffin and his groomsmen wore matching black suits from Generation Tux, with white undershirts, black shoes, and accessorized with black ties and white satin pocket squares.
Similarly refined, the couple chose a classic color palette of white, blush, and black. Florist Flowers for Dreams designed posy bouquets for the bride and her bridesmaids, composed of white roses and baby's breath, respectively. Ushers and groomsmen wore coordinating baby's breath lapel boutonnieres, with Griffin's boutonniere also including a small white rose.
The ceremony took place, beautifully framed against cream city brick and two large floral vases, and surrounded by their treasured friends and family. Guests unable to travel were also able to join virtually, included on a FaceTime call.
The reception, featuring a tasty buffet-style meal from Chef Jack's Catering, took place in the Pritzlaffs' warmly lit reception space. Here, especially, Emily & Griffin included small details that made their day special and unique.
Personalized signage included a welcome sign, a bar sign that read, "Drinks on Mushu" (the couple's sweet husky puppy), table numbers honoring Emily & Griffin's many travel adventures, and a dessert table featuring a quote from The Godfather, one of the couple's favorite movies.
When they entered, guests were encouraged to leave their mark at the couple's interactive guest book tables. Emily & Griffin's first guest book included a Polaroid camera for guests to take photos, which were then taped into a book alongside notes and well-wishes.
Beside that, the couple also had several vinyl records and a variety of metallic markers. Emily explained, "One of our favorite weekend activities is to take long walks to explore coffee and record shops. To commemorate this, we had vinyl records for our guests to sign, and coffee bean party favors from our favorite coffee shops (Hubbard and Craven, Colectivo, Ozo) across the three states we have both lived in."
Before sneaking away for rooftop sunset photos, the couple cut and enjoyed a chocolate, layered cake from local favorite, Simma's bakery.
Reminisce Photography captured every sweet moment of the day, from getting ready to the last dance--and we are LOVING these stunning cityscape couple portraits! The couple gushed, "We could not be happier with the way our photos turned out. Miranda was so thoughtful, asking us what our vision and story were beforehand, truly trying to get to know us. She understood what we wanted and ensured our wants and needs were captured. She was so much fun and put us at ease the whole day."
From spreadsheets to budgeting, Emily & Griffin prioritized staying organized during the wedding planning process. In addition to their hard work and careful budgeting, Emily reflected, "Having collaborative vendors that you trust is so important. We had the absolute best vendors!"
